So often we hold ourselves back, allowing our fearful internal critic (monkey chatter) to tell us our limitations. Allowing only a small selection of choices. However, if that fear was just an old story or an old program (microchip) that you believed in. What if the only thing standing in your way was you? The old you? The old stories?
If you knew that you couldn’t fail what would you do? Write it down on a piece of paper. Feel what it would feel like to achieve it. Now take one small step toward it in your mind. Because the truth is, every small step forward, even visualisation or mental rehearsal, will bring you closer to manifesting the life you’ve always dreamed of.

What is the Difference Between Life Coaching and Counselling?
Life Coaching is more about concentrating on Cause and Effect. Life Coaching is future focused and will help you to create goals, clarify your direction and remove the limiting beliefs and old grievances which are holding you back. Have you ever thought, “What should I do with my life?” Or, “I don’t feel like I have a purpose.”
For example, you come to a crossroad in your life. It might come in the form of a rut, a mid-life crisis or existential questioning. It might show up at the heels of a big career change or commitment. It might even present itself when you’ve already decided to start over in life — but you’re not sure where to go next.
A life coach focuses on the desired outcome and the future of their clients. This is in contrast to what a counsellor, or a psychologist, or a psychiatrist does. Counselling places a lot of focus on the past (childhood conditioning and life experiences) and the present.
The NLP Process
You’ve heard the term living on autopilot, right? To someone trained in NLP, this would mean that you are living according to your programming, which consists of habitual thoughts, which create triggers, emotional reactions and beliefs. Events in life are either positive or negative. The negative one's we learn the most from, but they can create short cuts to our danger centres. For example, if you believe you are responsible for the events and decisions in your life, things go easier. If you believe that things are done to you and you are not responsible for your choices, things are more difficult.
- Missing Strategy: You’re not sure where all these things that you’re doing and achieving along the way will take you. You’re making it up as you go but feel like it’s all adding up to nothing. You don’t have a clear plan and feel like you’re stuck at the start line.
- Conflicting Vision: The reality of your life is different to the vision you had not that long ago. What you do, day in day out, has you feeling lost, disempowered, frustrated or even angry at times; making you feel like it all goes against this aspirational version of you you yearn for.
- Need for Validation: Whether it’s a need to seek external recognition or a tendency to put too much importance or value on other people's judgment. This may have been hard-coded in you from an early age and you’re unsure how to manage these ingrained habits that guide your actions.
- Misplaced Nostalgia: (Common) You may be feeling like you’ve experienced a degree of success before and hit an income ceiling. You’re not sure what will come next - or what should - and it terrifies you to feel lost when you’ve always been in control before.
- Limiting Beliefs and Self-Doubt: You may be faced with a constant feeling of insecurity or self-doubt that transforms into a fear of change or episodes of anxiety. Your lack of knowledge around what you’re feeling is a contributing factor.
- Past Haunting: You may find yourself incapable of letting go of things that have long come and gone. Failure to recognise or admit past failures are not allowing you to turn to the future. You don’t know how to go about fixing that.
- General Discontentment: You may be experiencing negative feelings and assumptions about yourself or your situation. Those feelings are there but you’re head is telling you that they are not legitimate, however you can’t help feeling this way. You lack motivation and experience communication hurdles.
